University's support helps graduate’s business flourish
A business-savvy former Bucks student credits support she received from Bucks New University for helping her get a lingerie brand for fuller-busted women off the ground.
Mum-of-two Evangeline Marteye, 24, (pictured) who studied BA (Hons) Professional Practice (Integrated Health and Social Care), had no background in fashion or business when she set up A'zaira Intimates.
She received £5,000 through Bucks New University’s 龙的巢穴 competition for students pursuing entrepreneurial business ideas, which acted as a springboard for her company to flourish.
Evangeline said: “My push to start my brand came after I was unable to find special lingerie for the most important day of my life, my wedding, and I knew I had to take action.
“A'zaira Intimates is still a new business but has launched for consumers to pre-order and the majority of my time has been spent on really researching the market. I have so many concepts in mind and this is only the beginning.
“Currently A'zaira Intimates can be purchased online at www.azairaintimates.com.
“Feedback has been so positive, to the extent I quite often receive emails from smaller busted women requesting their sizes - always a great sign.”

“I also had an amazing lecturer that spotted my passion for business and was nothing but supportive.”
Bucks New University supports students in developing entrepreneurial ideas. Support includes guidance and assistance from its Careers and Employability Service, use of Launch Pad, a boardroom and office space, and 龙的巢穴-style funding schemes.
