SubWoofers, the music festival organised by Bucks New University students for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, has announced an exciting line-up of acts this week.Bucks Live group

The festival, which takes place on Sunday 6 May at the charity’s home at The Grange, Saunderton, runs from 1pm until 7pm.

Following the success of other Bucks Live events at the University's High Wycombe Campus over recent years, students from second year Music & Live 事件 Management and Music Business courses have been working with Hearing Dogs for Deaf People over several months to create what promises to be a great fun day out.

The line-up for the music stage has now been confirmed:

  • SkaSouls UK - Hugely authentic Ska tribute band, with proper brass section, who play a mix of classic Ska/Two-tone covers and their own original ska material
  • Horn Division - Horn Division delivers funked-up hits with a horny twist.
  • James Mullally - This unique singer/songwriter was brought up on music ranging from Sting to Johnny Cash and finds inspiration from many other artists, writers & producers for the diversity in his lyrics and genres
  • James Kennedy - This singer, songwriter, producer and frontman of the Alt Rock band Kyshera has toured 10 countries, as well as writing and producing three Kyshera albums and three solo albums
  • Nick Bryne - Buckinghamshire based musician Nick’s music is perfect for fans of Iron & Wine, Bon Iver & Damien Rice and his music has been described as ‘potent and atmospheric’ by Pure M magazine
  • Dan the Guitarist - 2nd year Music and Live 事件 student who is part of the team putting together SubWoofers. Performing covers of absolute classics from the 70’s through to the 00’s, you’ll find it hard not to sing along to.

Dan the Guitarist said: “I’m really looking forward to playing at SubWoofers and supporting such a brilliant charity. Myself and fellow students have done a great job ensuring that there is something for everyone at the event and it looks set to be a great day. I hope as many people as possible will come down and support Hearing Dogs and the fantastic work which it does.”

And if festival goers get a bit peckish there are plenty of refreshments available with stalls serving pizza, paella, fish and chips among others.

SubWoofers is also running a raffle - with all proceeds going to The Hearing Dogs For Deaf People and are looking for local companies to donate raffle prizes for the day. In addition, SubWoofers will have many craft traders from the local area and pitches at the event are still available.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People provides clever, expertly trained assistance dogs that change the lives of deaf children and adults by providing constant companionship, and alerting them to important sounds. In addition, the charity provides expert support and advice across the UK for those encountering hearing loss, and we raise awareness of mild to severe deafness and the issues that surround it.

Tickets for the event are on sale now and priced at £15 std, £10 concessions, £5 children and £30 for a family ticket (2 adults & 2 children).  访问 bit.ly/SubWoofers2018 to book tickets.
