Bucks New University uses “eduroam” Wi-Fi at all campuses and “KeySurf” at all halls of residence.

500 Internal Server Error

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there is an error in the application.

To connect:

  1. Go to Wi-Fi settings on your device
  2. Select the Wi-Fi network ‘eduroam
  3. Enter your Bucks username followed by @bucks.ac.uk (for example: 12345678@bucks.ac.uk)
  4. Enter your University password
  5. Accept the certificate when prompted

You should only need to authenticate to eduroam once using your Bucks username and password, after that you'll automatically connect. You will need to repeat these steps if you change your password.

If you have trouble connecting:

  1. Go the web site cat.eduroam.org
  2. Click on “click here download your eduroam installer”
  3. Select for Bucks New University (you may need to search as the list only shows 25 institution names)
  4. Select the installer appropriate to your device
  5. If prompted enter your Bucks username followed by @bucks.ac.uk (for example: 12345678@bucks.ac.uk) and password
  6. Accept the certificate when prompted

Note: If you’re an Android user you can download the eduroam CAT app from Google Play which will setup your device for you.

Guests at Bucks New University can get connected to “Bucks Guest” Wi-Fi network. The guests need a username and password to get connected.

How to request individual guest Wi-Fi accounts

Contact us by phone at ext.5000 or email a request to IT@bucks.ac.uk with the following user information:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Company
  • Country Code

How to request guest Wi-Fi accounts in bulk

Please send a request by email to IT@bucks.ac.uk with the following information in an Excel spreadsheet, entering the information into separate columns using the example below:

Wi-Fi and Network connections are available in the Halls of Residence. KEYSURF is the Broadband provider for the Halls of Residence.

CONNECTING TO THE KEYSURF NETWORK

Follow the steps below to get connected to the KEYSURF network at Halls of Residence:

  • STEP 1: Choose your connection type (either “KeySurf” Wi-Fi network or connect to the network socket)
  • STEP 2: Open your web browser and you will be presented with the KeySurf sign in screen. Click on the “Create Account” button
  • STEP 3: Fill in your details and pick your product. On completion of registration, make a note fo your username and password
  • STEP 4: You will be returned to the KeySurf sign in screen. Use your new username and password to get online
