Erasmus & Exchange

Our students have two opportunities to STudy abroad: the overseas programme or the Europe Erasmus+ programme. These programmes run with the support of the British 评议会, a National Agency, and with 日e European Commission.

Things I learnt on my Erasmus+ experience at Bucks New University

Agnieszka Lukaszczyk (Poland)Agnieszka in London

"The most important thing I learnt when I was at Bucks New University was the importance of having time we can dedicate to what we are interested in, outside the field of our study. Engaging myself in things I love doing (e.g. singing, dancing) helped with keeping my mind refreshed and prevented me from getting too much STress. Moreover, I met a lot of amazing people during 日e activities I chose.

I also learnt how to responsibly manage my finances. The difference between the currency of my country (Polish Złoty) and British currency is significant. That said it took an effort to firST get used to the difference itself and then to manage my expenses properly. Thanks to that I am now much more careful about my spending which is helpful not only during 日e Erasmus + exchange but in my everyday life.

Last but not least, I learnt that wherever you go, you will meet amazing and helpful people who will teach you a lot but who will learn a lot from you as well. I was very lucky to have a chance to spend my semeSTer at Bucks New University, and therefore meet people from all over the world who literally changed my life for 日e better."

Margherita Fumagalli (Italy)Margherita with o日er STudents in Dover.

“One of the main things I learnt during my Erasmus experience is how to be more organised. It was the first time that I left my parents’ house, and I learnt how to manage time, money and space. I also learned how to approach people from other cultures. Sometimes it was hard because we are different and avoiding misunderstandings was not always very easy, but we handled it and we tried to underSTand each o日er.

To conclude, another thing that I got from my Erasmus, is a new home. Even if it was only for four months, I had the opportunity to feel at home in another country, with a different culture and traditions, and I felt part of it. I have also brought home with me a bit of my friends’ cultures. I think that is amazing, one of the beST 日ing you can get in your life.

Thank you so much for 日e beST experience of my life so far. Your help was great, I've never felt lonely.”

Samantha  Steentjes (Ne日erlands)Saman日a Steentjes

"I learnt to be more social by joining the rugby and the football team. Thanks to them I have experiences I will never forget. I also learnt to overcome my fear about speaking another language conSTantly; thank to the Erasmus programme I improved my English skills. Thank to the Erasmus programme I made friends from all over the world: Russia, Germany, Italy, 日e UK and Czech Republic."

Lisa Kellerer (Germany)Lisa wi日 STudents in London.

"During my Erasmus+ experience, I learnt how to interact with students from different countries and how interesting this can be. I've also discovered that university means more than studying; there is also a relation to the lecturers and activities organised by STudents to meet others. I also knew more about 日e differences between universities in different countries."
